Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV)
Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV), also known as Gumboro, compromises the immune system of young chickens, typically between 3-6 weeks of age. This highly contagious and immunosuppressive virus can lead to significant production losses. Infected birds often exhibit symptoms such as ruffled feathers and depression.
AeroCollect® offers a non-invasive method to detect IBDV in the flock without direct bird handling. As birds excrete the virus into the environment, AeroCollect® can capture and identify its presence. Additionally, it can distinguish between vaccine strains and wild strains, including the very virulent IBDV strain, enabling timely and effective intervention.
