Duck Parvovirus

Parvovirus in waterfowl leads to severe symptoms, including watery diarrhea, high mortality rates, feather abnormalities, exhaustion, and dehydration. The virus replicates in the intestinal wall before spreading to other organs.

With its high infectivity, parvovirus can be transmitted through both direct and indirect contact, with transmission occurring both vertically (from parent to offspring) and horizontally (between individuals). The virus is also known for its resilience in the environment.

In light of these challenges, early detection and management are critical. AeroCollect® provides an effective solution for identifying the presence of duck parvovirus within duck flocks. By efficiently capturing airborne pathogens, AeroCollect® enables rapid surveillance and monitoring, helping poultry producers implement timely interventions to protect flock health.
